EHP is proud to announce that “Acute Impact of Hourly Ambient Air Pollution on Preterm Birth,” published in EHP on 29 April 2016, has been selected by the Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN) as its November 2016 Article of the Month. CEHN Article of the Month summaries discuss the potential policy implications of current children’s environmental health research. The CEHN summary can be viewed here.

EHP is pleased to launch its new Children’s Health page. This dynamic page will feature timely children’s health research and news as they are published in EHP as well as links to related material. The page includes its own “Search Children’s Health” function so visitors can search our full library of children’s health content by topic, author, or publication year and find exactly the information they need. This month Editor-in-Chief Sally Perreault Darney and International Program Manager Hui Hu are taking EHP to China. Their first stop is Wuhan for a workshop on recent perspectives on environmental health, organized by faculty of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Sally will speak about EHP’s scope and objectives as well as emerging issues in environmental health, while Hui will provide updates on the EHP Chinese Edition, including accessibility of social networking in China. On Thursday, October 13, EHP will participate in a Twitter chat on children’s environmental health issues and initiatives. The Twitter chat will be held from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. Eastern time (11:00–11:30 a.m. Pacific time) and moderated by the Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN). Please join us, and don’t forget to include the hashtag #CEHchat in all your tweets! More information on Children’s Environmental Health Day is available on the CEHN website.

Come visit with EHP’s Science Editor, Jane Schroeder, at the 2016 ISEE Meeting in Rome, Italy, from 1–4 September 2016. This is a great opportunity to meet a member of our team, and to learn more about the journal. A number of our Associate Editors will be in attendance as well. Jane is also co-hosting a half-day writing and publishing workshop on 4 September, following the conference.

EHP is pleased to present the abstracts from the 28th annual meeting of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE), held in Rome, Italy, 1–4 September 2016, and hosted by the Department of Epidemiology Lazio Regional Health Service, ASL Roma 1, and the Italian Epidemiological Association. The focus of this year’s conference is current and future challenges in exposure assessment, study design, and data analyses.

For a number of years, EHP has posted accepted manuscripts online as what we termed Advance Publications. The concept here was simple—to get the content online as quickly as possible in an effort both to get authors the attention they deserve and to get readers the information they need. This product has served our community well, but it is not without its flaws. (more…)

EHP has an opening for an Assistant News Editor. The ideal candidate will have a scientific background in a field relevant to EHP’s scope of coverage and experience in translating highly complex scientific information for a general audience, social media, and art direction or graphic design. Banner ads are published free of charge and posted exactly as they arrive. EHP assumes no responsibility for incomplete or erroneous ads. Banner ads are posted at the top of the webpage and appear across the site on a rotating basis.
