NIEHS/EPA Superfund Basic Research Program
The NIEHS, one of the National Institutes of Health, manages the NIEHS/EPA Superfund Basic Research and Training Program in association with the U.S. EPA. The research conducted by this university-based program is in accordance with the Superfund law.
This program is designed to support multidisciplinary research studies that will provide information on the detection of hazardous substances in the environment, methods to detect exposures to and health effects from these substances, risk assessment methods for hazardous wastes, and methods to reduce the amount and toxicity of hazardous wastes from Superfund sites.
