Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies
Centre College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor of Environmental Studies to begin in August 2018. Applicants should have a Ph.D., teaching and research expertise at the intersection of environmental science and public health. The Environmental Studies program seeks a teacher-scholar who will enhance the learning environment at Centre College with their lived experience, perspectives, and scholarship. The new faculty member will teach an introductory level Environmental Science class, an upper level course on Global Environmental Health, and Environmental Studies Senior Seminar (ENS 500). Other courses may include topical first year studies courses, Introduction to Environmental Studies (ENS 210), and classes in the candidate’s area of interest that expand current course offerings. Collaborative research with undergraduates is expected and supported, and experience or interest in teaching in a liberal arts college environment is desirable. The program encourages applications from candidates who have experience in teaching and mentoring a diverse student body with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion.
