Pharmacology/Toxicology Faculty Position

The College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Pharmacology/Toxicology in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This is a 12-month tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an extramurally funded research program and provide instruction to professional (Pharm.D.) and graduate students (M.S., Ph.D.). Additional responsibilities include providing service to the College/University and broader scientific community and contributing to the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the College and the Department.

Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. or equivalent in Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline, a record of research productivity, and current authorization to work in the U.S. Preference will be given to applicants with an innovative and exciting research focus that builds on current programmatic strengths, particularly in the area of environmental health sciences, immunology, or cardiovascular disease; experience teaching and mentoring in a relevant academic environment; experience with extramural grant applications; and evidence of leadership.

Located in the historically rich Southwest, the College of Pharmacy is part of the Health Sciences campus in the State’s largest health complex.  This position offers excellent opportunities for collaboration with other University investigators within the College, the Comprehensive Cancer Center, the School of Medicine, the Clinical and Translational Sciences Center, and the Center for Biomedical Engineering, as well as Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute and local National Laboratories.
